Alastair Murdoch, Re:Ignite Church

Re:Ignite Church have developed “Hope Housing” to care for the most vulnerable people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, through the provision of supported housing. We aim to work with our clients to understand their psychological and emotional needs, to support them with their recovery and to enable them to develop the resources to live independently and achieve personally meaningful goals.

Achieved To Date

We have been operating in Blackburn for a number of years and have run some great ministries catering to the community here. Our team have been involved in working with the types of people we hope to house in the future so we have some great foundations to build from!

Why We Do This

We want to introduce Light into dark places in Blackburn. Our mission is simple: to share the good news of Jesus. This can come both through word and through meeting the practical needs of the people here. We want to wage war on the darkness so that people are released into embracing the Kingdom of God throughout Blackburn and Darwen.

Future Plans

In collaboration with “RISE”, a new inter-church charity, we want to see many churches become involved in Hope Housing with a view to ending homelessness in Blackburn with Darwen.

green pastures review

We are really delighted to partner with Re:Ignite Church Blackburn as they start their journey of solving the housing crisis in Blackburn and Darwen! We have been really impressed by their patience and diligence in finding their first property and ensuring that it was the right place for them and their future residents. We believe and trust that they are going to have a great impact in their area!
