We are spearheaded by two Churches in Blackburn in the hope of helping to solve the housing crisis in our town as well as addressing a number of other issues in the town. Initially we want to target Invisible Homelessness and Asylum, Failed and Refugee Housing in order to help restore broken lives. We believe that God loves Blackburn and wants to do a great work amongst us!
Both of the Churches involved have been operating in Blackburn for a number of years and have run some great ministries catering to the community here. Our team have been involved in working with the types of people we hope to house in the future so we have some great foundations to build from!
We want to introduce Light into dark places in Blackburn. Our mission is simple: to share the good news of Jesus. This can come both through word and through meeting the practical needs of the people here. We want to wage war on the darkness so that people are released into embracing the Kingdom of God throughout Blackburn and Darwen.
We long for our ministry to address several areas including addiction, benefits issues and justice, child poverty and hunger, loneliness and joblessness, to name a few. We recognise that our starting point is the housing shortage in the area and it is this issue that underpins many of the others that we are looking forward to addressing in God's strength!
