DEVELOPMENTS

We dream of ending street homelessness. We mainly buy existing property from the open market, however, there isn’t enough property in the UK for the amount of people. So, our aspiration is to create a new property for each property we buy in order to replenish and increase the available housing stock. We will create properties via new builds or conversions. Options are to buy a site; obtain planning approval for new dwellings; and sell the site allowing a developer to build the properties, or otherwise, we may develop the properties ourselves. Additionally we may be the developer of new property for a site that we don’t own. Whilst creating homes is our aspiration, we will also consider commercial and church buildings if relevant to the particular project. Development costs have been between £100,000 and £10m. ROCKMOUNT HOUSE

Green Pastures' first new build project houses 8 people who were at risk of homelessness in these 6 flats. Since 2009 Green Pastures has collaborated with Greenwich council to allocate tenants to the properties and to provide support where required.

The building has been designed to a high standard providing Code 3 energy efficient homes. This has a significant positive impact on their monthly bills.  

We also constructed two 3-bed houses either side of the flats that were sold on the open market.

Dundonald

Wimbledon
Church and 18 Flats

On 1st October 2019 Green Pastures signed a contract to build the new Dundonald church and 18 flats in Wimbledon. The church is working together with other evangelical churches to reach the unreached for Jesus by prayerfully and boldly trying to plant and establish 360 reformed evangelical churches. We are excited to be asked to be part of what God has called them to do, helping provide a fabulous facility for now and future generations. Building has commenced and will complete in Spring 2021. This development will strengthen the capacity of Dundonald Church to serve God, teach the Bible and reach out to the local community as it has over the last 25 years.

Marksgate Development

Barking, East London

In partnership with St Marks' Church, Barking, The Berkley Foundation and London Borough of Barking & Dagenham (LBBD) we completed on 59 new homes (Marksgate) in Spring 2016 in one of the most deprived boroughs in England.

56 units are affordable homes provided by LBBD and we retained 3 units that we are using in partnership with St Marks church to house church workers and the needy.

The church also received a brand new facility including a community kitchen & a multi-purpose hall.

SOUTHPORT road

In 2013 we purchased a three and a half acre brown field site in West Lancashire. Planning permission has been granted for 38 dwellings. This site was sold in March 2020 and the developer is now building the new dwellings due to complete 2021.
