Lighthouse Homes

Rotherham

VIEW FULL PROFILE >
Lighthouse was an initiative of Churches Together in Rotherham in 2000 which wanted to respond to the need of those who were homeless within our town. We provide immediate, medium and long-term accommodation, for homeless men and women, in a safe and structured environment. Our Homes are Christian-inspired residential communities providing opportunities for change in both lifestyle and values. We are spread over several sites, providing accommodation, care and support. We can offer training for residents who want new skills and opportunities and we may even be able to offer employment through our Social Enterprise Projects.

Mulberry Community Project

Blackpool

VIEW FULL PROFILE >
The Mulberry Community Project is a charity set up as a supported housing project, in Blackpool, specialising in helping those who have had substance misuse problems. Mulberry operates small cell recovery houses where people are given a safe and secure environment where they can learn about themselves and their addiction and reintegrate themselves back into society. Opened their first house in May 2010 and we are now looking to develop what we offer into a more holistic service. We believe that not only is recovery possible but with the correct support is also achievable by those who really want it. We are not about Treatment but we are about Recovery.

One Church is an exciting, enthusiastic and welcoming Christian community based in Gloucester. Each expression adapts to its unique geography but contains the flavour and culture of One Church. We believe church is entirely relevant both to our community and to the lives of every individual. Whether gathering in church or rolling up our sleeves to assist someone in need, “we are a Christian community that serves”. This reflects the heart of Jesus Christ and offers hope to our world. Over recent years we have been developing partnerships with social agencies across Gloucester as we explore where we can be most effective in providing support for our community’s needs.

Orchards is a charity with a vision to see women free from sexual exploitation. Housing can act both as a reason for entry into prostitution and as a barrier to exiting. There are very few safe houses for women post-National Referral Mechanism or who are ineligible to receive NRM support and current provision does not meet the high demand, so the risk of re-trafficking or homelessness is high. We provide clusters of safe, one-bedroom flats for women who have experienced sexual exploitation and who are not entitled to state housing support, enabling them to continue their journey towards a sustained exit from prostitution.

We are known as an innovative Christian charity that is an exemplar in the fields of spiritual infrastructure support and community transformation. We support new and existing community initiatives to develop stronger ties and meaningful connections within both the faith community and wider civic contacts. One of our main concerns is to help those who help others, or who need help themselves, to have a voice to influence decision making and service delivery direct from government. Particularly marginalised members of society who rely heavily on such public services as the NHS, Council, Police and transport. We do this by facilitating consultations, input and face-to-face feedback between members of the public and key decision makers.

Bethel Tabernacle supports some of London’s most vulnerable people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, through the provision of supported housing and community-based support services. We work with our clients to understand their psychological and emotional needs, to support them with their recovery and to enable them to develop the resources to live independently and achieve personally meaningful goals. As the underlying causes of homelessness are complex and varied, our services also specialise in helping those homeless on the streets of London with a trolley and three committed volunteers who went out every Sunday morning.

Orchards

BRIXTON

Orchards is a charity with a vision to see women free from sexual exploitation. Housing can act both as a reason for entry into prostitution and as a barrier to exiting. There are very few safe houses for women post-National Referral Mechanism or who are ineligible to receive NRM support and current provision does not meet the high demand, so the risk of re-trafficking or homelessness is high. We provide clusters of safe, one-bedroom flats for women who have experienced sexual exploitation and who are not entitled to state housing support, enabling them to continue their journey towards a sustained exit from prostitution.

The Gathering Place is a building in the centre of Halifax, out of which run lots of different projects, all of which have at their core, a heart to serve and support the vulnerable, marginalised and broken people in our local area. Every day we see lives transformed and hope restored. We want to see God's kingdom manifest itself in our region & in its people.  The media may tell us the Church is in decline but His kingdom is on the rise! We are witnessing more and more miracles occurring everyday, we are speaking life into the dry bones and we pray for a move of the Holy Spirit on this area like we've never seen before.

Hope Housing

Bradford

Hope Housing is homeless charity based in Bradford. We have been operating for just over three years and have experienced a huge demand for our service. Hope Housing aims to reduce homelessness in such ways as may be thought fit within the context of Christian values and practice, based on the biblical mandate to love our neighbour as ourselves. Our aim is to end rough sleeping in Bradford by eradicating homelessness through the provision of a range of services including crisis management, advice and advocacy and supported housing.  We believe it is a great privilege to help people experiencing homelessness by providing hope where they often feel there is no hope.

Lifeline Harrogate

Harrogate

The local hostel 'Harrogate Homeless Project' identified that there was “a chronic lack of move-on accommodation” and after Green Pastures confirmed the request they set about seeing if the local churches would partner with them to develop some accommodation so that people could move out of the hostel into independent living with floating support provided. They held a vision meeting in July 2012 and out of this Lifeline Harrogate was formed and many people came forward to volunteer. Great things have happened as Lifeline have supported people and many lives have been changed and saved. They give God all the glory!
