Overview

We aim to run supported housing for victims of domestic abuse, and possibly supported housing for other forms of homelessness.  We also plan to run activities and programmes that equip people with life skills such as cooking, parenting, job seeking, budgeting and more.

Achieved To Date

First Green Pastures house is pending.

Why We Do This

We want to bring out the good colours and flavours in people and our community, we dream of every tear being wiped away! So alongside shelter, safety and welcome we want to offer emotional and practical support through social and therapeutic groups and through key skills development.

Future Plans

Our goal is to see homelessness, and the prospect of it reduced, to see people not only avoid or flee crisis, but to start to take steps towards a life of confidence and flourishing.

green pastures review

Helen, Tom and their team identified that domestic abuse leaves large numbers of women in Northumberland every year with nowhere safe to go. R21 is a charity birthed out of Hope Church Bedlington, a church with a history of outreach and community work in their town. The need for help for families seeking refuge has only intensified during the COVID-19 lockdowns - and so, we are so glad to partner with R21 who want to see families seeking refuge find care, support, and a home.
