Overview

G&S Services has been supporting men and women out of homelessness and into training and work experience since 2008. In partnership with local business and
supported housing schemes we have been able to cultivate work placement opportunities and see many gain confidence, practical skills, find employment and able to go on to sustain themselves.

Achieved To Date

We supervised offenders on Community Payback for 5 years in partnership with Leicester and Rutland Probation Trust. Our voluntary labour resource has enabled
us to deliver private and local authority works, and positively impact our communities by enabling an element of pro bono services to those most in need.  In turn, our work has given volunteers skills in tree surgery, garden maintenance, small domestic improvements, house clearances, recycling donated goods, environmental services, working safely and being part of a team.

Why We Do This

We believe in the gospel to go into the whole world and make disciples. We have seen the miraculous provision of God, time and time again, to support us to work out
the burden he has placed upon us. Our ethos can be best summed up by Psalm 68:6 God sets the lonely in families, this is what we are, the hands, the feet, of Jesus, reaching out to the hurt and lost.

Future Plans

We now feel it is time to develop G&S further by managing accommodation, and providing training, pastoral care, and development to help vulnerable people caught
in addiction and homelessness. Our vision involves securing a property in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire with opportunities for residents to volunteer and gain skills assisting the process of securing and sustaining permanent accommodation. We recognise the value of building a cohesive community and will develop partnerships with churches and other stakeholders to expand our vision and provision.

green pastures review

G&S Services are an exceptional organisation with an outward focus and care for the community. We are so impressed by their care and passion and it is a pure joy to work alongside Scott and the team in planning for the future! We are looking forward to supporting them in continued growth and to see them transform lives for the glory of God. We have no doubt they will play a pivotal role in ending homelessness in the UK!
